Aldo Cibic

Architect and designer by training, Aldo Cibic moved to Milan in 1977 to work with Ettore Sottsass and became his business partner in 1980 along with Matteo Thun and Marco Zanini.

1980 also marked the start of the Memphis-Milano Movement that was directed by Ettore Sottsass and focused on the design of postmodern pieces of furniture and objects with a sense of humour, in reaction to the serious post-Bauhaus designs of the 1970s.

Today Aldo runs Cibic & Partners where he designs urban, architecture and interior projects, as well as CibicWorkshop the design and research arm of his studio that addresses new design typologies.
