A conversation between Giorgetti’s Giovanni del Vecchio and Klaus Busse, Maserati's head of design, over their shared passion for design and craftsmanship, has developed into a new furniture collaboration dedicated to detail and perfection and ‘elevating each other's strengths’.
It’s Milan Design Week and in the heart of the Renaissance city, Giorgetti Spiga with its new showroom and distinct mosaic floor of Ceppo di Grè stone is the location for the launch of the Giorgetti Maserati Edition collection. Described by the two world-leading brands as the ‘essence of Giorgetti design meets the automotive excellence of Maserati,’ the partnership combines a century of tradition with a new furniture range for the Giorgetti collection and a bespoke car interior for Maserati.
Giorgetti's new collection involved their creative director, Giancarlo Bosio, as well as Klaus Busse who is the head of design Maserati, each piece distinguished by its unique design approach. 'The collaboration is not a moment in time,’ remarks Leighton Clarke, CEO, Space and Poliform. ‘It will continue. The integration of the Maserati design team with the Giorgetti design team is inspired by the Triton of Maserati and opens up a new form of dining in the home, it’s an important collection.’

A series of sofas, armchairs, a side table, stool and container in glass, lacquer, satin leather and Chamonix fabrics, includes the Nereide modular sofa with a solid ash wood frame in natural, anthracite grey, biscuit and ash grey finishes, and armchair featuring a special leather detail that highlights its form.
The sculptural Lorelei armchair and sofa envelops in a comfortable embrace, with a distinctive structure composed of two outer shells in leather for the sofa, and lacquer or flexible wood for the armchairs. Inspired by the sinuous lines of automobiles, the Seidon sofa unites form and function. Two elements combined to create the backrest and the seat in either textile or satin leather. While the Teti pouf and container unit (below) takes its shape from the geometric ‘point’ detail of the Maserati logo, a lacquer finish with fabric or leather upholstery for the pouf, and an upper element in clear glass for the container tray.

Launched at the Maserati headquarters in Modena, an hour south-east of Milan, Maserati also unveiled their new electric Grecale Giorgetti Edition designed with fabrics, timber and a ‘Gleaming Dusk’ paint that echoes Giorgetti’s signature metal treatments. ‘Giorgetti has worked with Maserati to furnish the interior of the new Grecale SUV with softer, friendlier fabrics like wool and cotton instead of leather, and timber profiling for the doors,’ continues Clarke. ‘And like the furniture collection, the detail and craftsmanship, materials and stitch work is pure attention to detail.’
In the Giorgetti Maserati Edition Collection, raw materials are not just a starting point, 'they are an expressive language, an invitation to experience design through the senses,' remarks Giorgetti. Precious woods, natural leathers, exclusive fabrics, metals and lacquers with automotive finishes have created a dialogue in perfect balance, giving shape to a collection where every detail is the combination of function and emotion. Surfaces come alive, evoking the sculpted lines of the iconic Trident cars, and materials tell the story of 127 years of heritage.
