A space to connect
Filmed over three years, A Life Individual features a collection of inspiring interiors that are bursting with energy and personality. In this latest film, we revisit seven creative and individual spaces and their owners who share a visual snapshot of their lives to reveal the way design has helped shape their unique homes.
A Life Individual - Gwen Tan
"A Life Individual" visits the home of architect Gwen Tan, a very personal space that opens up to the natural beauty of Singapore now one of the greenest cities in the world. "Our home is built upon the lifestyle we embrace. We love to entertain; we are passionate about plants and natural light. This house is designed to allow indulgences in these simple pleasures."
A Life Individual - Gillianne Griffiths
I was a professional musician for most of my life, a trained pianist, organist and conductor. For me the transition to interior design was natural. As a musician you think about classical forms and harmony. It’s the same indesign, we consider composition, shapes, rhythm and form and how they createthe harmony of a room. The two disciplines really do go hand in hand. Gillianne Griffiths - A Life Individual
A Life Individual - Andrea Sullivan
Colour is so important to me, it is the foundation and inspiration for my art. With a young family, our home has to nurture us, it has to be practical andadapt and change as we evolve – and it has to make us all feel happy. It really is that simple. Andrea Sullivan - A Life Individual
A Life Individual - Megan Morton
For me, making a magical house is a bit like cooking. It is never justone ingredient that makes it great, and a lot of it has to do with the love, with the care, attention and time - you just can’t do it fast, it’s part of anongoing story that is largely autobiographical. Plus great homes have neverbeen just about the architecture or the furniture, it’s about who is in itand how you live - the people at your dinner table, the friends on your sofa.Great things are just not enough, it’s how you activate them and bringthem to life that is the most important thing. Megan Morton - A Life Individual
A Life Individual - Terry Wu

A Life Individual - Dr. Trevor Leong
Each room of our home is individual so we can retreat to find our own space. It is an oasis. One of our favourite pieces of furniture is the Bend sofa. I know my Sarah likes it because it's bouncy but for me it's unique. It's functional and casual and reflects the way we live.
A Life Individual - David Abela & Rebecca Amos
Our house is our space, a reflection of us and a haven from a busy working life. We fill it with laughter, family, friends and quiet times too. Our furniture needs to blend in with the elegance of 1930's architecture, but at the same time be warm and inviting to strike a perfect balance of luxury and comfort.
A Life Individual - Shannon McGrath
Design definitely enriches my day-to-day life and having a house of our own that's designed is a softer way of living, a calmer way of living. Our home is elegantly understated and it is enjoyable to be in.
A Life Individual - Heilam Choy
My apartment is cluttered but curated. I don't like an empty home. I want to live and breathe design from the moment I wake each morning. When friends come over I love to see their surprise, to feel the mystery of all these objects. I see my collection as a library of thoughts.
A Life Individual - Hamish Guthrie
We strived for a home that wasn't complete at the start but something that could be extended, refined and finished over time. It's a blank canvas so it is the furniture which reflects the way we live in this house
A Life Individual - Caecilia Potter
I love this room, it is eclectic with lots of memories. The Mongolian fur armchairs are some of my favourite pieces because they tell a story of the designer watching his wife lacing her corset. We live in this incredible universe that has so much beauty and design inherent in it, by expressing that in both the small and large parts of your day you can have a joyful life.
A Life Individual - Nicole Chow
Home is a creative retreat for me, a place where I can watch the seasons flow. I enjoy the contrasting textures of my favourite pieces, the balance of soft silk rugs and upholstery, with bronze, stone and wood. The elements combine to make my apartment nurturing and calm, allowing me to think and recharge.

Architect Roberto Palomba makes you feel at home
Roberto Palomba’s relationship with Kartell began on an escalator in Moscow, where a chance encounter with Claudio Luti was the starting point for their lasting creative relationship. That partnership is underpinned by quality, material research and evolution, and each product shaped by the philosophy of design for life.
