Phantom Table

Designed by Jacopo Foggini

The pure and essential form of Phantom and its all-over natural mirror surfaces give rise to a timeless object, an expression of elegance, delicacy and universal use that is perfect in every space whether classic or contemporary. It is available in two sizes. Three thick volumes, two bases and a top, are solid but ethereal, concealing an inner structure of anthracite-painted wood. Slightly tapering bases streamline the elements, shaping lines and giving harmony to the whole.

Fine gold detail on hand-made edges makes geometries visible, the aura of sobriety and lightness perceived by the senses. The table's name is an expression of its ability to dematerialize, of its homage to the spaces it inhabits through its beauty and capacity for reflection. Mirror is a material but removed from the material world, existing in what it reflects, illuminated and brought to life through the movement of what we can observe in it.

Edra

Edra

Their non-conventional debut in 1987 was based around the "I Nuovissimi" collection, furniture pieces conceived by young, relatively unknown designers. The company grew rapidly with its innovative approach and art direction of Milan-based architect Massimo Morozzi. The aptitude of talent scouts has allowed the company to bring together some of the most interesting new designers, such as Alessandro Mendini, Masanori Umeda from Japan, Francesco Binfaré, Fernando and Humbero Campana from Brazil, Ross Lovegrove from Wales, and some top architects, such as Zaha Hadid and the Australian studio Denton Corker and Marshall to develop products that are grounded in fresh, contemporary ideas. Flexible in its organisation, Edra makes resourceful use of the skills of its local area to create innovative products, at times revolutionising classic upholstered furniture.

Jacopo Foggini

Jacopo Foggini was born in Turin and currently lives and works in Milan. He explores art and design crossing the boundaries imposed by the conventions of those disciplines. Jacopo joined the family business early in his career where discovered the versatility of the methacrylate, an industrial material normally used in automotive design. His first experimentation with this material date back to the beginning of the nineties, when he starts using a machine of his own invention that heats the methacrylate up to 200 degrees Celsius, producing a filament that he models with his hands to create luminous shapes, monumental works and mazes of threads in an elegant intertwining of colours.
