Stefan Diez

Stefan Diez began a cabinetmaking apprenticeship in 1991 before studying industrial design at the Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Stuttgart, and founded his studio in 2003. Trained in a craft and at home with digital tools, he works intensively with materials and technology to create precise, simple products. In 2018 he became Professor of Industrial Design at the University of Applied Arts Vienna.

For Viccarbe he designed Funda, a light, versatile family of chairs, stools, lounge chairs and an ottoman shaped to promote a circular economy.
