Pier Giacomo Castiglioni

Pier Giacomo Castiglioni was born in Milan in 1913 and graduated in architecture from the Politecnico di Milano in 1937. He worked with his brothers Livio and Achille, and then with Achille alone until his death in 1968. A founder member of the ADI in 1956, he won five Compasso d’Oro awards; Flos founder Dino Gavina called him one of the ten best designers in the world.

With Achille he created Flos classics including the Arco floor lamp, Toio, Taccia, Snoopy, the Gatto and Taraxacum cocoon lamps and the Splugen Brau suspension.
