Johanna Grawunder

American architect and designer Johanna Grawunder was born in San Diego in 1961 and graduated in architecture from California Polytechnic State University in 1984. From 1985 to 2001 she worked at Sottsass Associati in Milan, becoming a partner in 1989 and co-designing many projects with Ettore Sottsass, before opening her own studios in Milan and San Francisco. Her lighting often hides its sources in vibrant colour.

For Flos she designed Wan, an aluminium light giving direct lighting, as a suspension lamp and as a ceiling or wall fixture.
