James Wines

James Wines is the founder and president of SITE, the architecture, environmental art and design group created in New York in 1970. The fusion of art, architecture and landscape is the focus of his work; he has designed more than 150 buildings in 11 countries and received the National Design Award for Lifetime Achievement in 2013.

His collaboration with Foscarini began in 1991. The Light Bulb table lamp comes from his limited edition Light Bulb Series, in which White Light is the archetypal object-lamp and Black Light inverts it: the housing glows while the bulb stays dark.
