Formafantasma

Formafantasma is the research-based design studio founded in 2009 by Italians Andrea Trimarchi and Simone Farresin, working from Milan and Rotterdam. The name means ghost shape: for the duo, form is always the consequence of a process, and their work investigates the ecological, historical, political and social forces shaping design today. From 2020 to 2023 they led the GEO-Design department at Design Academy Eindhoven.

For Flos they designed SuperWire, which reengineers the filament of LED bulbs, the Wireline suspension lamp, a 2021 Interior Design Best of Year winner, and the Wirering wall lamp.
