Day Bed Grand
The Day Bed is rightly counted among Eileen Gray’s most famous designs. The lounge "offers pleasant and comfortable seating and is, moreover, particularly suited to relaxing." What she in her own modesty conceals is the fact that the Day Bed is enchantingly beautiful, accessible from all sides and a pleasing sight from every perspective. It is the ideal showpiece to be placed freely in a spacious room.
In 2015, ClassiCon already issued the Adjustable Table E1027 in a black version. Its look complies with the famous design classic’s version that Eileen Gray personally used in her House E1027. Matching the table, the Day Bed has been available with a black frame since 2019.
Over the course of the past 50 years, the average body height has increased by almost 10 centimetres. In agreement with the licence holder, we have therefore been offering the second, larger format Day Bed Grand since 2019.

ClassiCon
ClassiCon offer modern classics that are collector’s items—not only the masterpieces of yesterday, but of tomorrow as well. ClassiCon’s collection aims to produce individual pieces of great originality and formal perfection. Displaying the kind of value that lasts, ClassiCon collection pieces are destined to become coveted investments for future generations. ClassiCon has from its inception aspired not only to offer pieces by established figures such as Eileen Gray and Eckart Muthesius, but also to foster contemporary design and to present selected examples in its program. Naturally, the models chosen must display the kind of quality and advanced form that earns them the designation “classic”. That’s why ClassiCon is always open to new design ideas.
Eileen Gray
From an aristocratic Irish-Scottish family, Eileen Gray studied architecture and design in London and Paris and first made her name with lacquered walls and decorative panels. Her theories on design and architecture left an indelible mark on modernism, her tubular steel furniture, revolutionary in its day, is now classic, and her house E1027 on the Côte d’Azur reopened to the public in 2015.
ClassiCon produces her designs under licence, among them the height-adjustable Adjustable Table E1027, in MoMA’s permanent collection since 1978, the Bibendum Armchair and the Day Bed.
