Christian Haas

Christian Haas was born in Erlangen, Germany, in 1974 and founded his own studio in 2000, a year after graduating in industrial design. Combining simplicity and elegance across furniture, lamps, porcelain and glass, he has worked for Rosenthal, Tecta and Karimoku New Standard, and his Ropes lamps are in the permanent collection of the Vitra Design Museum. He lives and works in Porto.

For ClassiCon he designed the Materia coffee, side and long tables, whose slim, organically shaped tops in open-pored travertine or marble have asymmetrical contours and a concave surface.
