Celia Hadeler

Celia Hadeler is a contemporary artist based in the Netherlands whose work is built on contradictions and contrasts. During her studies at the Willem de Kooning Academie in Rotterdam and the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague, she developed a taste for combining old and new techniques, which she presents in her Folds.

For Moooi Carpets she designed the Fold rugs in grey, ivory and nude, which isolate and magnify a single fold, of a napkin, a garment or a bag in the wind, and use trompe l’oeil to appear almost three-dimensional.
