Ambroise Maggiar
Born in 1978, French designer Ambroise Maggiar is profoundly influenced by the history of Italian design. He studied product design at ENSAD in Paris and spent five years in Milan designing household appliances with Makio Hasuike. Back in Paris in 2011, he began working with Philippe Starck across many fields, co-signing products for Kartell and Magis since 2012.
With Starck he designed Abbracciaio for Kartell, a candle holder cast in aluminium from two shapes that, placed one in front of the other, become an embrace.
