Ambrogio Pozzi

Born in Varese in 1931, Ambrogio Pozzi trained at the Istituto Statale di Faenza and worked with his father and brother Carlo at Ceramica Franco Pozzi in Gallarate, whose Primaluna of 1973 was shown at MoMA in 1980. His Duo service for Rosenthal of 1968 earned a medal from the President of the Republic, and after the family firm closed in 1980 he opened his own studio.

For Rometti he created the Presenze series in 2006, drawn from the study of gestalt figures, among them the Presenza Grande Vase, hand cast in white clay.
