Adam Tihany
Born in Transylvania in 1948 and raised in Jerusalem, Adam Tihany studied architecture at the Politecnico di Milano before moving to the United States, where in 1978 he founded Tihany Design in New York. Often credited as the first self-described restaurant designer, he has created restaurants for chefs such as Thomas Keller and Daniel Boulud, and The New York Times named him among the greatest American interior architects in 2001.
For Kartell he designed the Space table lamp, in indoor and outdoor versions, whose elongated silhouette recalls Seattle’s Space Needle.
