Euvira Rocking Chair
The Euvira rocking chair by Jader Almeida is a masterful blend of yesterday and today, lightness and solidity. With its precisely orchestrated flowing lines, thickening and tapering to form a pleasing rhythm, the chair is a signature expression of contemporary design. At the same time, the choice of materials and their treatment recalls the work of the great Brazilian design masters of the 1960s and 70s. The cord seat and backrest lend the chair a special lightness and transparency, unfolding a fascinating graphic play of lines, especially when in motion. Jader Almeida
Born in 1981 in Santa Catarina, southern Brazil, Jader Almeida gained practical experience in the local furniture industry as a teenager, later studied architecture and urban development, and worked with typical Brazilian materials such as wood, leather and wicker cane at a furniture manufacturer. Contact with masters of Brazilian design, among them Sergio Rodrigues, shaped his approach.
He works as a product designer and architect in his own studio in Florianópolis and has won the iF Design Award and the Good Design Award Chicago. For ClassiCon he designed the Euvira Lounge Chair and Euvira Rocking Chair.
