David Chipperfield

David Chipperfield was born in London in 1953, studied at Kingston School of Art and the Architectural Association and worked for Richard Rogers and Norman Foster before founding David Chipperfield Architects in 1985. His buildings include the Neues Museum and James-Simon-Galerie in Berlin and Turner Contemporary in Margate. Knighted in 2010, he received the RIBA Royal Gold Medal in 2011 and the Pritzker Prize in 2023.

For B&B Italia he designed the Posa armchair in 2008, robust museum seating with a sense of refined luxury, its comfort drawn from thin upholstered sections on a light frame.
