ZaZa Bench
A handcrafted bench that belongs anywhere, ZaZa is made from recycled aluminum at Emeco’s factory in Hanover, Pennsylvania. Designed by Naoto Fukasawa, the bench seat is formed with a slightly obtuse angle that prevents the sit bones from slipping, giving the seat a gently curved form shaped by the body’s sense of function. Long-lasting in both design and manufacture, ZaZa benches come with a lifetime warranty, for both indoor and outdoor use. Offered in three sizes, 15”, 48” and 72” with Emeco’s signature hand brushed finish as standard.

Emeco
Founded on the principle ”Begin with what’s left over, turn it into what will last”, American furniture maker Emeco has been building chairs from recycled materials for over 75 years. In the throes of World War II, the U.S. Navy needed a place to sit and Emeco took up the challenge and in 1944 the 1006 Navy Chair® was born. Built by hand at their factory in Hanover, Pennsylvania using a unique 77-step process and scrap aluminium – a wartime necessity Emeco has been building chairs from recycled aluminium so strong, that they guarantee them for life.
Naoto Fukasawa
Naoto Fukasawa was born in Yamanashi in 1956, graduated in product design from Tama Art University in 1980 and spent seven years at ID Two, now IDEO, in San Francisco before heading IDEO’s Tokyo office from 1996. He founded Naoto Fukasawa Design in 2003, co-founded Plus Minus Zero that year and created Super Normal with Jasper Morrison in 2006. A Royal Designer for Industry, he advises Muji and directs the Japan Folk Crafts Museum.
For B&B Italia his designs include the Papilio chairs, armchairs and bed, the Harbor armchairs, the Shelf bookcases in Corian and the Omoi armchair of 2024.
