It looks like a “single block” that contains, as if ‘sculpted’ into a single material, the backrest, seat and armrest, which match the ottoman that perfectly corresponds to the hollows of the seat and follows its profile.

B&B Italia

Zaha Hadid
Zaha Hadid was born in Baghdad in 1950, studied mathematics in Beirut and in 1972 moved to London to attend the Architectural Association, winning its Diploma Prize in 1977. After working with OMA she founded her own practice in 1979, building the Vitra Fire Station, the MAXXI in Rome and the London Aquatics Centre. The first woman to win the Pritzker Prize, in 2004, she was made a Dame in 2012 and died in Miami in 2016.
For B&B Italia she designed the Moon System sofa in 2007, a sofa-sculpture with an unmistakable profile.
