The Edelweiss collection is the result of Philippe Bestenheider’s desire to come to terms with wood. The seats, in thin plywood, combine the comfort of an ample surface with the formal and constructive elegance of Swiss design. The arched form of the large back has been gauged to permit interlocking with the seat, in a game of balancing of forces of pressure and tension that simulates a micro-work of architecture, while referencing the chairs of the Alpine tradition.
