Gianfranco Fini

Gianfranco Fini was born in Rome in 1936 and studied with the painters Guttuso and Gentilini while still at school. Moving between painting, architecture, design and set design, he belonged to the circle of the Scuola di Piazza del Popolo, created sets with the sculptor Mario Ceroli, including Norma at La Scala in 1972, and designed lamps for New Lamp before founding Studio Fini Architettura.

For Poltronova he designed the Regolo modular sofa in 1974, a geometric system of one, two or three seats with storage for books on the sides and back, reissued in solid ash.
