Franco Raggi

Franco Raggi was born in Milan in 1945 and graduated in architecture from the Politecnico di Milano in 1969. An editor of Casabella and later of MODO, he took part in the Radical collective Global Tools and in 1973 organised the first critical exhibition of Italian Radical Design, in Berlin. The On Off lamp he designed for Luceplan with Alberto Meda and Denis Santachiara is in MoMA’s collection.

For Poltronova he designed the Canton bench in 1988, a graphic wooden seat with an open compartment at each end, reissued in 2023 in red and green or blue and orange.
