Bethan Laura Wood

Bethan Laura Wood, born in 1983, studied in Brighton and at the Royal College of Art, completing her master’s under Jurgen Bey and Martino Gamper in 2009 and founding her studio that year. Known for her research into materials and colour, she won Design Miami’s Designer of the Future award in 2013.

For Poltronova she created the Terrazzo fabric in 2022, a kaleidoscopic pattern of coloured gems recalling the terrazzo floors of the Venetian palazzo where she stayed in 2010, followed in 2025 by Terrazzo Quarry, a seating landscape of upholstered rocks.
