Giuseppe Bavuso
Giuseppe Bavuso was born in 1959 and lives and works in Seregno, north of Milan. His projects combine minimalist rigour with accurate technical research and the use of technological, innovative materials. He began as a project designer for an international construction company, working across architecture, contract furnishing and the interiors of trains and sleeping cars, and since 1986 has worked through his own product design office as project designer and consultant for furniture and bio-medical companies.
His awards include first prize at the International Design Award in Cologne (1990) for the Pick-Up sofa for Brunati, the Young & Design Award in Milan (1994) for the Siparium sliding doors for Rimadesio and the KBB Review Honour-List Award in Harrow (2000) for the Zenit bookcases and walk-in closets for Rimadesio; his Graphis (2005) and Vela (2008) projects for Rimadesio were selected by Design Index for the Compasso d’Oro. He works with companies in Italy and abroad as project designer and art director, following each product from concept to visual communication, and also designs exhibition spaces and showrooms.
