Maui Soft Chair - Noma Fabric
The Maui chairs form a family with a rich variety of colours and shapes, both hard and soft, capable of satisfying specific needs, at home or in professional environments. Maui is now available in the new Noma fabrics created 50% with recycled fibres. The fabric meets all European fire safety standards. Kartell has chosen six different colour variants to include in the catalogue, all of which are available now, but offers the whole range of colours as Client Fabric. Kartell Noma stands out for its attractive, yet hard-wearing and versatile two-town mélange design, its excellent resistance to fire and its environmentally-friendly appeal.

- The Designer
Kartell
Kartell is the world’s leading manufacturer of plastic design classics. Since the advent of this new material in 1950, Kartell has worked with designers to make plastic engaging and comfortable. Componibili was one of the first pieces launched and is still in production today. Colour is Kartell’s trademark, but in 2001 they perfected transparent plastic with the Louis Ghost chair by Philippe Starck. Louis Ghost is now their number one selling chair.
Vico Magistretti
Vico Magistretti was born and grew up in Milan, graduated in architecture in 1945, and launched his professional career. Working chiefly in the fields of architecture, town planning and industrial design, the first recognition of his work came in 1948, when he won the Gran Premio at the 8th Triennale. After that came almost 40 years of activity with other prizes and awards in recognition of Magistretti's work in various sectors in different countries. Furniture, lamps and other objects that he designed may be found all over the world and the most important design museums have given exhibitions in his honour and kept examples of his work in their permanent collections. He started designing for Cassina in 1960, and from that date his signature is to be found on many products. The Maralunga sofa of 1973 and the Nuvola Rossa bookcase designed in 1977, remain international best-sellers and have provoked hordes of imitations never able to echo the success of his originals.
