Billiani
Stella 819
A solid and reassuring chair with a back that embraces, ending with two decisive cuts inspired by the points of a star. Both in the chair and in the lounge and stool the backrest is available either fully upholstered or with a wood back, highlighting the material. Designed by Matteo Ragni, Stella has been developed for contract interiors, where it is a discreet presence. The generously padded seat and back are a guarantee of comfort.

Billiani
We have produced wooden chairs in Italy for over a century, in a region of small specialized workshops where the culture of wood has deep roots.
The Billiani company was founded in 1911 to produce chairs in curved wood with caning. In 2019 Cristina Celestino, an architect and designer based in Milan, was appointed as the company’s artistic director. The chair is still a central focus, as is the material: wood, the true leitmotif of the collection.
Matteo Ragni
Matteo Ragni was born in Milan in 1972, graduated in architecture from the Politecnico di Milano and has worked in design since 1994. With Giulio Iacchetti he won the Compasso d’Oro in 2001 for the Moscardino biodegradable spork, now held by MoMA, and again in 2014 for the Montini manhole covers.
He has also won a Wallpaper Design Award, the Prize of Prizes for Innovation and a Good Design Award, and founded the wooden toy car brand TobeUs. For Billiani he designed Stella in 2024, chairs, armchairs and bar stools that are a discreet presence in contract interiors.
