For 3 days (28 - 30 April 2023), Singapore's Taksu Gallery - a leading contemporary art gallery housed in a residential area at Holland Village, will become home to a vibrant pop up that invites guests to immerse themselves in a colorful fantasy to celebrate the iconic Le Bambole collection.

Join us at Taksu Gallery from Friday 28 April – Sunday 30 April 2023 as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of Le Bambole by Mario Bellini. The pop-up will showcase the timeless designs that in 1972 revolutionized the concept of furniture. Visitors will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in an interactive design exhibition that celebrates the relaunch of this iconic collection with a contemporary eye and focus on sustainability.

Reconstructed for circular design with a new range of fabric
Le Bambole was designed in 1972, by Mario Bellini for trailblazing Italian design brand B&B Italia. The collection revolutionised the concept of furniture at the time with its soft curves, plush forms, innovative materials, and technology. Fast forward 50 years and Mario Bellini has teamed up again with B&B Italia, evolving the collection with a contemporary eye that recaptures a look and feel more akin to the original, favouring generous, curvy, increasingly feminine shapes along with manufacturing choices also mean that every item in the new Le Bambole collection can be completely disassembled and therefore easily recyclable.
The Stella McCartney x B&B Italia capsule collection marks the British conscious pioneer’s first-ever interiors collaboration. From 28 April, Taksu’s window will showcase the exclusive Le Bambole armchair in an immersive display with the armchair featuring the hand-drawn “Fungi Forest” toile de Jouy print from the Stella McCartney Summer 2022 collection. The collaboration which launched at last year's Milan Fair, was born of Stella’s long-time personal passion for Bellini’s works and celebrates Le Bambole’s 50th anniversary.
The collection combines the indisputable quality and durability typical of B&B Italia products with responsible material and construction choices inspired by Stella McCartney’s conscious mission, which includes a new innovative upholstery which is 100% biodegradable and a toxin-free polyester that breaks down in compost and soil without harming the environment.
The Taksu installation also includes a colourful display that celebrates Le Bambole’s history and highlights the collections new construction methods for circular design, driven by B&B Italia’s strong commitment to sustainability.
