Description
The "Casiers Standard" are wooden modular and stackable container units, designed to meet various requirements (equipped with shelves, drawers etc). The base element is a polychrome midcube, size 75/75/37.5 cm (29.5"/29.5"/14.8"). Considering the wide articulation of this product, please consult the relative catalogue page.
Presented at the Pavillion de l'Esprit Nouveau in 1925 by Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret, the design of these containers is taken directly from that of offi ce furniture; In addition to being stacked and linked together, the casiers allow the space to be freely arranged. They are conceptually comparable to the volumes of its architectures, supported by slender pedestals. At the 1929 Salon d'Automne, the Casiers Standard underwent an evolution, exhibiting a structure expanded in size to compose real wall units.
