Alfredo Häberli was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1964 and was 13 years old when his parents moved to Zurich. From Argentina he brought with him the ability to understand another culture – and an unquenchable childlike curiosity. He combines both these characteristics in his work as an industrial designer, producing an unmistakably individual style. Based in Zurich, Alfredo Häberli is one of the world's most successful industrial designers and attributes this to his enthusiasm for the familiar and everyday, as well as his perpetual drive to discover new things. With the ability to unite tradition with innovation, joy and energy in his designs, Alfredo Häberli creates works with companies such as Alias, Camper, Iittala, Kvadrat and Volvo, that are linked by clearly resolved ideas across material and form.
